Separation Diagram

'Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that, if a person is one "step" away from each person he or she knows and two "steps" away from each person who is known by one of the people he or she knows, then everyone is no more than six "steps" away from each person on Earth.'

Degrees Of Separation

Degrees of Separation is my new project, its loosely linked to the photo's of Linxi taken earlier, at least in style.

The idea is to have several series of six photo's, dealing with my personal and public life. Hopefully some narrative will be derived from the images and will give me a way to progress from this experimentation.

The series below is all taken in my bedroom.

Clubland MCR Project: Northern Disco - Dimitri From Paris

This next next set of photos continues to document Clubland MCR.

What I'm trying to achieve with these photos is a documentation of Manchester's current club climate. Right now Manchester is going through an exciting phase of club, and clubbing change. With this year being the 25th anniversary of the Hacienda opening and the re-emergence of super clubs in the form of The Warehouse Project, I want to follow the underground clubs and how they're looking backwards to move forwards.

Northern Disco is a perfect example of this, it is the only night in Manchester dedicated to Disco music. A term which has now been somewhat tainted by the mass media, Disco is not cheesy music, as most people are led to believe and I really think it will make a big comeback in the next couple of years... but right now this is a tiny underground scene but the followers are faithful.
