Barnett Newman

While in conversation about my work last night my work was compared to the painter Barnett Newman's work.

I'll be honest, until last night I'd never heard of him but have spent today looking at his work and researching the ideas behind his work. Visually the similarities are quite obvious. Conceptually we are quite different but both of us are exploring the relationship of contrasts.

Cellar Door Shoot One

This Is a completely unedited set of preliminary shots for my cellar door project. The shoot took around three and a half hours. I'm very happy with these because I think they achieve what I've been wanting to do with this project. However, in the editing and photoshop stages, which are still incomplete I realised that I could make them so much stronger with careful and minor changes to the images.
